What would we get if, at the halfway point, Moncada at 3B is having a very good to shining year? Is it possible that someone might want to trade a talented MiLB investment for Moncada? Or does he have a bad reputation? A player who can't stay healthy?
I don't think Getz will re-sign him, nor do I think Moncada would want to stay in a place where he was always injured, repeatedly failed, became questionable, and for only one year was he who we thought he could be. But this is the man who for 7 years trained and processed the "finest" minor league talent that cheapness could squeeze out. Now, its once again, the "Ol' Reinsdorf Buffet" with special guest chef "Tony 'Unwritten Rules' LaRussa"!!! Take it away, Head Chef Getz!!..........
